A healthy doctor's office

What if the design of your doctor's office could reduce stress for you, your staff and your patients? What if the interplay of rooms, processes and communication media could enable a more effective and pleasant daily treatment routine? If these conditions could contribute to more trust and openness among your patients?

Science in practice

A large number of scientific studies illustrate the influence that the design of spaces, products and services can have on how we think, feel and act. Use this potential for health-promoting treatment rooms. With our offer we would like to contribute to optimal conditions in medical facilities. Goal: To take into account the needs of patients and medical staff alike.

Every project is unique. Therefore, we work in six main phases with various intermediate steps and milestones. All phases and work packages can be booked independently of each another.

We use empirical research methods and analysis tools to capture the needs of all relevant stakeholders and identify potential for optimization in the respective context. Our tools include, among others:

  • Inspection & Observation
  • Survey studies
  • Walk along interviews
  • Usability testing

In line with an evidence-based design approach, we base our work on interdisciplinary scientific research. We use this to develop for you:

  • Overview of the scientific findings relevant to you
  • Evidence-based guidelines
  • Starting points for design optimization

By using (patient) experience design tools, we analyze processes in your practice and the path that patients take when interacting with your practice and you. Our tools include, among others:

  • Patient Journey Maps
  • Experience Ecosystem Maps
  • Touchpoint Inventories

Based on extensive research, we develop individual concepts to transform your practice into a health-promoting setting. Depending on your needs, these can be virtual solutions (website), individual products (information media or furnishings) or spatial configurations and equipment. Among other things, we use:

  • Co-Creation Sessions
  • Design Thinking Workshops
  • Concept development and visualization
  • Production of information material
  • Web development and consulting
  • Recommendation of and cooperation with external service providers

Everyday processes show how well developed solutions work. It is crucial to capture users' experiences in order to learn from them and make adjustments where necessary. To that aim we use:

  • Post occupancy evaluations
  • Assessment of potentials for optimization

4 Fields of work

Medicine

What if the design of a doctor's office, the interplay of spaces, processes and communication media could lead to a more effective daily treatment routine and enable greater trust and openness among patients?

Architecture

Health-promoting design requires a comprehensive and scientifically sound determination of needs and contextual factors. To this end, we offer a wide range of survey, analysis and consulting services for architects.

Psychotherapy

How can the spatial conditions favor the therapeutic process, create trust and radiate security and warmth?

Communicate

We want to help ensure that knowledge about health-promoting design does not end up in the drawer, but is applied in the world. Therefore, we strive to communicate current evidence-based findings.
